In 2025–2026, the iconic water fountain at the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre (JACC) in Kuwait was closed for maintenance after problems developed with its flooring and waterproofing system.
The fountain floor is finished in a distinctive blue epoxy coating that serves two purposes: creating the recognizable blue appearance of the water feature while also forming an important part of its waterproofing system. Previous repair attempts had failed to resolve the problem, and the project’s main contractor approached Manmade Studio to provide a more reliable solution.

Our team assessed the condition of the fountain, prepared the existing surfaces, addressed the problem areas, and carried out a comprehensive application of the blue epoxy coating. Particular attention was given to surface preparation and finishing to achieve a durable, consistent result capable of performing under the demanding conditions of a continuously operating water feature.
Once the works were completed, the fountain was restored to its original appearance and returned to operation.
After months behind barriers, the water began flowing again—bringing one of JACC‘s most memorable public spaces back to life for everyone to enjoy.
